Toulon, France – Part II

One of my fondest memories of this trip was stumbling upon the Farmer’s Market in Toulon. Somehow we happened upon the market we knew nothing about and got sucked into it even though we weren’t buying any of the food. I have been to many Farmer’s Markets in my life, but this is probably one of the best I have ever seen.

Toulon (Provence), France – Part I

Our ship departed Ajaccio the afternoon before and we arrived into the port of La Seyne sur Mer early the next morning. This, of course, confused passengers who thought they were arriving in the port of Toulon.

 

 

Yes, there is a port in Toulon, but that is not where Royal Caribbean was docking the Adventure of the Seas. The port area is definitely not a touristy area, but it is a commercial port. To get to the city of Toulon, we needed to pay for a shuttle to get us there.

Visiting the Little Island of Corsica

After a fun night onboard the Adventure of the Seas, we were ready for our next port of call: Ajaccio, Corsica. Tourism plays a big part in the Corsican economy. The island’s climate, mountains and coastlines make it popular among tourists. The island has not had the same level of intensive development as other parts of the Mediterranean and is thus mainly unspoiled.
